Programme overview
Target Audience: Civil Defence Volunteers
The Swiftwater and Flood First Responder Instructor (SFRI) pathway is designed for teaching personnel with a swiftwater and flood capability up to first responder level. Candidates are expected to further develop their personal skills and knowledge between their training and assessment courses, following an individual action plan outlined in the training course debrief.
Successful participants operate in a number of water based environments to include rivers, lakes and urban flood. Tasks are varied and include assisting the emergency services with people rescue.
The programme consists of three modules delivered over 10 days.
