Search and Rescue – Dalkey Quarry

Great outcome to a Dublin Civil Defence search and rescue operation in Dalkey Quarry on Sunday night, 25th February. The missing vulnerable person was found alive and well.

Mayo Search

On Saturday 20th January Mayo Civil Defence was activated by An Garda Síochána to assist in the search for a missing person in South Mayo. The body was later recovered from a local river. May he rest in peace.    


Injured Hiker on Slieve Blooms

On Saturday 20th January Laois and Offaly Civil Defence volunteers responded to a call to assist an injured hiker on the Slieve Blooms. The casualty was treated by Civil Defence medics and extricated safely by Civil Defence crew to the awaiting National Ambulance Service Ambulance.


Snowfall – Donegal

Winter Solstice, Newgrange

A team of Meath Civil Defence volunteers were out early this morning providing ambulance and medical cover for the annual winter solstice at Newgrange monument. The sun made a valiant effort to oblige but the live stream commentary was excellent. Well done to all involved.
