Galway Search & Recovery Operation, Gort

On Good Friday morning 7th April, the Loughrea Sub Unit of Galway Civil Defence was activated by An Garda Síochána to assist with the search of a missing male at Coole Park, Gort. Drone, boat and ground crews were mobilised to the search area to conduct the search. Clare and Mayo Civil Defence also responded to assist. The Park area comprises of a large wooded area with a lake and fold plains. A large group of locals, family and friends assisted under the supervision of An Garda Síochána.

The body of the missing male was located later on Friday evening in the woods. May he rest in peace.
