Storm Éowyn

Civil Defence units countrywide are on standby to assist communities and PRAs in the aftermath of Storm Éowyn which reached the Irish coastline in the early hours of Friday morning, 24th January. The storm has since moved its way across the country causing extensive structural damage and power failure.
Civil Defence Officers and Assistant Civil Defence Officers have been attending SWAT (Severe Weather Assessment Team) meetings in their respective local authority areas. Emergency Rest Centres have been set up and all units are on stand by to assist PRAs as and when required during the recovery period.
