Blarney St Community Responder Scheme
The Blarney St Community Responder Scheme was activated on the 19th Dec 2012 by the Health Service Executive Ambulance Control. This scheme, the first in Cork City, was set up by 3 Volunteers from Cork City Civil Defence, Pat Carroll (Scheme Co-Ordinator),Fred Lotty and Finbarr McCarthy. The scheme covers a radius of 5KM from the Blarney St area. All responders have been trained to CFR level with a number of Emergency First Responders and 2 Emergency Medical Technicians as part of the team and are mobilised by a mobile phone system from HSE Ambulance Control.
