Kilkenny Civil Defence – Back in Action

On 1st December a major fire destroyed Kilkenny Civil Defences headquarters. Most of the Units vehicles, boats and equipment were lost in the blaze. Thankfully no-one was injured in the fire. CDO Ray Regan and his team of volunteers have lost no time in quickly getting the Unit back in action. The Unit will move into new premises in January. A lot of new equipment has been sourced with help from the Department of Defence and other Civil Defence Units. The Unit now has 3 jeeps, a minibus and a new boat. An ambulance and a second boat will arrive in January.
