Cork West – Search for Missing Person

Cork West Civil Defence was tasked by Garda District HQ in Clonakilty at 8.30pm on Wednesday evening, 28th June to assist in a missing person search operation in the vicinity of Lissard House, 3km south east of Skibbereen, for a 21yr old male.

Civil Defence search teams and boat crew, in conjunction with Toe Head Coastguard, conducted a coordinated search in the area of Lough Abisdealy until 10.30 pm.

An operational brief was held at the Garda HQ in Skibbereen at 9.30am this morning, Thursday 29th June. Additional resources to be deployed today will include the Civil Defence aerial search drone and a dog unit from SARDA.
