Avian Flu Workshops 2018

Members from Galway, Clare, Roscommon & Westmeath Civil Defence units took part in an Avian Flu workshop given by Department of Agriculture veterinary personnel in Loughrea on Monday evening 8th October 2018.

The workshop is part of a series of five regional workshops that help Civil Defence be prepared to assist the Department of Agriculture in the event of an outbreak of Avian Influenza (Bird Flu). Topics included the Human effect of Avian influenza, the Civil Defence role in an outbreak and correct donning and doffing of PPE.

Another example of activities that Civil Defence are tasked to do in support of Government Agencies in times of Emergency.
