Civil Defence Bill 2012

The Civil Defence Bill 2012, which dissolves the Civil Defence Board, passed all stages in the Dail yesterday (20th December) and is now successfully through the Oireachtas.
It is anticipated that the Bill will be signed into law by the President after Christmas and that will be followed by a MInisterial Order to give effect to the dissolution of the Board so that, with effect from 1 January, 2013 the management and development of Civil Defence at national level will be re-established in the Civil Defence Branch of the Department of Defence
