Civil Defence Officers Association Conference & Trade Show 2022

The 2022 National Civil Defence Officers Association Conference and Trade Show was held in the Clanree Hotel, Letterkenny, Co Donegal on the 9th and 10th November 2022.
The Cathaoirleach of Donegal County Council, Cllr. Liam Blaney opened the conference on Wednesday morning. An address and welcome speech was made by the Chief Executive Officer of Donegal County Council, Mr. John McLaughlin. Chairperson of the CDOA, John Maguire and host Civil Defence Officer, Ms Edel Flynn also welcomed everyone to this years event, the first one since 2019.
There were excellent and entertaining speakers on both days on a wide variety of topics. The trade show was supported by 28 exhibitors showcasing their latest equipment, relevant to the services of Civil Defence.
The Association honoured 11 officers who retired between 2019 – 2022, all of whom have given excellent service to their respective local authorities:

- Mr. Michael Richardson (Wicklow),
- Mr Alan Hanafin, (Kerry),
- Mr. Jason Ullrich, (Wicklow),
- Ms Katherine Peacock, (Kilkenny),
- Mr. Michael Fitzsimmons, (Meath),
- Mr Seamus Kiernan(Longford),
- Mr Garry Fitzpatrick (Limerick) &
- Mr Raphael Fallon (Offaly).
