Cork West Civil Defence – Flood Relief Efforts, October 2012
Cork West was activated at 2am on Thursday morning, 11th October by Clonakilty Garda Station to assist with Flood Response Operations in the town following extremely heavy localised rainfall.
A total of 15 Volunteers and two 4X4s were deployed on the ground at 2.15 am and worked with the Gardaí and Local Authority staff at various locations. The floodwater had receded by 4.15am and Civil Defence members were stood-down at 4.30am.
