Donegal Search & Recovery Operation, Bundoran

The body of a member of the Irish Defence Forces who drowned on Tuesday 23rs August at Tullan Strand, Bundoran was recovered on Sunday 28th August following a two day interagency search operation.
Donegal Civil Defence was tasked by the Irish Coastguard Service to assist in the search and at 7am on Saturday 27th August Civil Defence mobilised with a crew of twelve shoreline searchers, 2 Drone Operators from Donegal Civil Defence, 2 Drone Operators from Cavan Civil Defence.
Civil Defence supported the search operation again on Sunday 28th August, providing a kayak unit, ground searchers, incident control unit and drones from the Donegal and Cavan units. The body of the missing gentleman was recovered south of Creevy Pier.
