Dublin Civil Defence – Tall Ships – August 2012
60 safety "Water awareness" trained Civil Defence personnel from a number of Units countrywide were on duty along the bank of the River Liffey over the course of the Tall Ships visit to Dublin Docklands.
There were 6 Dublin Civil Defence boats on the river from 10.00am to 1.00 pm each day. A further Dublin Civil Defence boat was on duty in Georges Dock while two Kildare Civil Defence boats were on duty in Grand Canal Basin.
Two Dublin Civil Defence Ambulances provided cover along the Liffey and one 4 x 4 Ambulance provided cover was at Grand Canal.
On Sunday 26th August, for the departure the Port requested that the six
Civil Defence RIBS escort the parade of sail, lead by the LE Emer out into the bay.
