Dublin Mountains Marathon – 25th May 2014

Dublin Civil Defence volunteer members provided a range of services on Sunday 25th May during the Dublin Mountains Marathon on behalf of Barretstown.
The first personnel commenced duty at 6am at Tallaght Stadium and the last Ambulance crew were stood down in Shankill at 7.30pm.
Dublin Civil Defence Ambulance crews provided cover at four locations covering most of the 42 Kilometre route. First Aid cover was provided at the three check-points, Featherbed Forest, Three Rock Mountain and Carrickgolligan beginning at 9am and finishing at 6.30pm.
The Welfare Unit provided tea and coffee at Tallaght Stadium from 7am. They also provided a hot meal for over 400 participants on the Marathon as well the Rangers and Volunteers at Three Rock Mountain. All 68 Dublin Civil Defence members were also fed either at Three Rock Mountain or at their designated duty locations.
Dublin Civil Defence resources on the duty included 68 personnel and 23 vehicles deployed for 13 ½ hours over an area of 42 kilometres.
