Dunmore East: Multi-Agency Exercise

On Saturday 2nd September Civil Defence took part in a multi-agency exercise preparing for a wide range of marine emergencies. The exercise was co-ordinated by the Irish Coast. It involved the Air Corps, the Navy, the RNLI, the Commissioners of Irish Lights, the Revenue cutter, the Red Cross, Mountain Rescue, Irish Water Safety, the Irish Underwater Council and the Gardai. Civil Defence provided a welfare team, search teams and also deployed our drones. About 30 Civil Defence volunteers took part, mainly from Waterford Civil Defence but also from Wexford, Cork South and Dublin.
