FINAL UPDATE: Cork West Civil Defence – Search Operation, Glandore, January/February2012

The Glandore search operation concluded on Friday 10th February after 27 days with the recovery of the body of Said Aly Eldin, the last of the five missing fishermen who had been lost with the sinking of the Tit Bonhomme on Sunday 15th January.
During the course of the operation it was apparent that the training, experience and motivation of all the Civil Defence Units involved contributed greatly to the successful recovery of the missing fishermen.
Cork West Civil Defence would like to publicly thank and acknowledge the assistance of all the units who assisted during this time: Cork South, Cork North, Cork City, Kerry, Tipperary North, Limerick City, Limerick County and Waterford County.
