Flooding Donegal

Civil Defence were activated by the Local Authority and CFO on Tuesday night 22nd August at 8.50pm to respond to heavy flooding in the Inishowen areas of Carndonagh, Clonmany, Burnfoot and Buncrana, to deploy sandbags and assist with evacuations. 3, 4X4 jeeps and trailers and 6 crew were deployed and were stood down at 2.15am.
Today, Wednesday 23rd August following the aftermath of Hurricane Gert many roads in Donegal have been washed away and as the clean up continues, the HSE Ambulance Control has placed Civil Defence, 4X4 ambulance and 2 crew on standby to respond to emergency calls in the worst affected areas of the county.
