Barge Recovery – Ballinasloe Harbour

On Wednesday 8th June the RNLI requested assistance from Galway Civil Defence with a barge which was in danger of running aground on the River Suck near Ballinasloe Harbour.

A boat and crew from the Ballinasloe unit of Galway Civil Defence responded to the request and on arrival noted that the vessel had been blown onto the Rivers bank. The boat crew assisted in bringing the barge owner to safety to the Ballinasloe Marina.
