Donegal Civil Defence Search Operation

On Saturday morning 4th November, Donegal Civil Defence was tasked by An Garda Síochána to assist with a multi-agency missing person search in the Oldtown area of Letterkenny.

Civil Defence Swiftwater Crew, Kayak Unit, Drone Team and Incident Command vehicle were deployed to the scene to assist in the search of the River Swilly. The body of the missing male was located on Saturday afternoon.

During the search operation, there was great interagency cooperation between An Garda Síochána, Civil Defence and the Irish Coastguard.

Sincere sympathy is extended to the family and friends of the young man. May he Rest in Peace.
