Farewell message from Director General

On the occasion of my retirement today, 27th March, 2015 I would like to say thank you to every member of Civil Defence for all the help and support that you have given me over my 15 years in the organisation and in my 10th year as Director General.

 

For all the courses and exercises you attended, exams you sat through and many hours willingly spent in sometimes appalling weather conditions on search, flood, severe weather response on numerous other activities please accept my sincere gratitude.

 

Wherever I went in my time in Civil Defence I was made to feel very welcome.

 

With your continued dedication to the voluntary ethos that underpins this great organisation, I know that Civil Defence is well positioned for any challenge that it may face in the years ahead.

 

With every good wish for the future.
