Kilkenny – Search Operations

On Saturday 17^th October Kilkenny Civil Defence assisted An Garda Síochána in a search for a person that has been missing for a number of months. 15 volunteers searched an area assisted by a number of members of the Gardaí and Technical Officer, Kevin Houston utilised the UAV (Drone) to map an area for the Gardaí that may need further searching.

At 11pm on Tuesday 20^th October Kilkenny Civil Defence boat crews were activated by Eastern Regional Control Centre following reports of a person having entered the River Nore in Kilkenny City. The call for assistance came from the Coast Guard who were in attendance at another incident. Nine members of Kilkenny Civil Defence boat crews mobilised within 15minutes and were subsequently stood down by the local Gardaí who had made contact with the person on the river bank.
