Laois Civil Defence – Search & Recovery Operation – November 2013

Laois Civil Defence was tasked by Garda Superintendent, Martin Cashin (Laois /Offaly region) 12.10pm on Sunday 10th November for a search of the Borris in Ossory area on foot of a report of a missing person. Civil Defence Officer Liam Preston put call out procedures in place and at 1.30 pm 15 Laois Civil Defence volunteers were in place, including the K9 unit. The search continued throughout the afternoon with the assistance of over 100 local volunteers and at 4.40pm the person was located.
Superintendent Cashin and family members thanked Civil Defence for their efforts and the search was stood down.
