Leitrim Search Operation

On Friday 29th June Leitrim Civil Defence was tasked by An Garda Siochana to assist with the search for an 82 year old man missing overnight in the Dromod area. A Coast Guard Helicopter, Sligo Leitrim Mountain Rescue and the Garda Divisional Search Team were also involved in the search. Civil Defence deployed a Boat Crew, Ground Search Team, Drone Team and the Meath CD Search Dog Team. The casualty was located alive but in poor condition by the Drone Team. The casualty was medically assessed by Civil Defence Volunteers and evacuated by the Boat Crew to Dromod Harbour and handed over to the Ambulance Service.
