Meath Civil Defence – Ambulance Fleet Upgrade
Meath Civil Defence has recently upgraded its ambulance fleet with the addition of two CEN compliant vehicles to replace two older vehicles. The new ambulances were handed over to the Civil Defence Unit of Meath County Council on Monday 8th April by the Cathaoirleach, Councillor Niamh McGowan.
Funded jointly by the Council and the National Headquarters of Civil Defence, the ambulances are equipped to deal with full scale care of patients. In handing over the vehicles, the Cathaoirleach commended the work of Civil Defence in Meath “our volunteers give of their time to train and work for the good of the people in the county and I am very happy to be handing over these ambulances so that they can be better equipped to deliver this important service” she said.
Michael Fitzsimons, Civil Defence Officer, is delighted with the new ambulances and explained that they will “enable Civil Defence in Meath to provide enhanced patient care at local events and when an emergency arises.”
