The Tánaiste and Minister for Defence Micheál Martin TD made Code of Practice Regulations SI 371 of 2023 in accordance with section 10 (1) of the Civil Defence Act 2023. The Regulations, which consolidates the Code of Conduct and the Volunteer Policy came into effect on 19th July. Code of Practice 19 July 2023

Laois Search & Recovery Operation

Civil Defence Act 2023

The Tánaiste and Minister for Defence Micheál Martin TD has signed a commencement order for the Civil Defence Act 2023. The new Act comes into effect from 18th July. The Act provides a modern and consolidated legal basis for Civil Defence today and for the years to come. Civil Defence Act 2023

Dublin Search & Rescue Operation

13 July 2023

Dublin Civil Defence volunteers responded to assist in the search for a missing lady from a care home at 12.50pm last night, 12th July. Search teams were on site within 40 minutes. Thankfully, the Civil Defence search teams located the lady at 2am, safe and well.

Civil Defence K9 Assessments

Irish Legends Golf Tournament

Cork City Marathon

Since its revival in 2007 Cork City Civil Defence has provided medical and logistical support at the Cork Marathon. Over 11,000 competitors took part in the 2023 event on Sunday 4th June.
