Kerry Civil Defence – Avian Flu Call Out

Kerry Civil Defence was activated on Tuesday 27th September, assisting Department of Agriculture, Food and Marine staff who were collecting dead birds which were washed up on beaches in the Dingle area. Five volunteer members of the unit were active for three hours utilising two Four Wheel Drive Vehicles.

Slieve Bloom Experiment – 13th September 2022

On Tuesday the 13th September in the Slieve Blooms,  Laois and Galway Civil Defence contributed to a collaborative project between the Irish Defence Forces, Tyndall National Institute & Trinity College Dublin which seeks to develop a drone radio relay system, to enhance radio communication for personnel operating in challenging environments.
