Kerry – August Bank Holiday Weekend

Kerry Civil Defence Volunteers supported local community events in Co. Kerry throughout the August Bank Holiday weekend, including the three-day Caherciveen Festival of Music & the Arts, a marathon in Fenit and a vintage show. The Kerry Unit is proud of its capability to provide such a service to the people and tourists of Kerry.
Laois – August Bank Holiday Weekend

A busy weekend for the Laois Civil Defence Volunteers who covered a number of events each day across the county. The unit would like to acknowledge the assistance of Kildare Civil Defence, Carlow Civil Defence and Roscommon Civil Defence for their assistance with the weekends duties.
Lughnasa Festival, Ballinlough

Meath Civil Defence Volunteers from the Kells, Navan and Oldcastle units were on duty on Friday night, 2nd August providing Medical cover at the Lough Lughnasa Festival in Ballinlough.

New Roscommon Civil Defence Officer

Fergal Conroy has commenced work as the new Civil Defence Officer in Roscommon. He replaces Ray Dunne who retired earlier this year. Fergal has been a volunteer with Laois Civil Defence for over 30 years. He has also served as the volunteer representative on the Civil Defence Inter Agency Guidance Team.
