Missing Person Search – Roscommon

Roscommon Civil Defence were called by the Gardaí at 12:08 on Friday 16th November 2018 to search for a man who was reported missing the previous evening.

Volunteers from Roscommon Civil Defence, Search and Rescue unit, Water unit and Unmanned Aerial System’s Unit were deployed to assist the Garda Siochana in the search.

Our search manager deployed his team to the Lake area, to search beside the convent in Lough Glynn Domain. Our Drone unit were tasked to assist and our boat crew to search the Lake

At 16:20 Roscommon CD Search manager made contact with control to request assistance from the boat crew at the South West side of the Convent, the boat crew were tasked to the area with Gardaí on board. At 16:20 the body had been located.

The Gardaí requested Roscommon Civil Defence water unit to recovered the body from the Lake at 16:34pm.

Civil Defence stood down at 17:30
