Regional Exercises 2012 – Sligo, 15th September 2012

Sligo Civil Defence hosted the first of the 2012 Regional Exercises on Saturday 15th September in the environs of Sligo Airport, Strandhill, Sligo. The exercise incorporated five competitive sites comprising:

· Foot Drill – on the airport runway
· Casualty/Rescue – on a plane to the left of the airport
· AFS – along shore and in wooded area
· Search/Communications – in green field/wooded area outside airport perimeter
· Team Task – in green area on airport grounds

Westmeath, Mayo, Roscommon and Donegal units competed. At the end of an Exercise which tested and show cased the capabilities and skills of the competitors the Donegal team emerged victorious. Presentations were made to the winning team at a Presentation Dinner in the Clarion Hotel, Sligo.
