Sligo Civil Defence was activated by Gardaí to assist with a search for a missing woman in Sligo Town. 17 Civil Defence members assisted in an extensive shoreline search from Strandhill to Rosses Point  on Sunday 22nd Octobe. The search concluded on Monday 23rd October following the recovery of the  body which was located on the shores of Coney Island.

Superintendant Mary Murray issued a letter to Civil Defence thanking all for their assistance.
