West Wicklow Fire

On Tuesday 26th February, Wicklow Civil Defence received a call for assistance by Wicklow County Fire Service to provide communications with the Air Corp at a major fire in the Hollywood area of west Wicklow.

A Civil Defence 4WD and two members were sent to the area and set up communications with the Air Corp helicopter by Marine VHF radio. The incident was brought under control late on Wednesday evening.

The Chief Fire Officer Aiden Dempsey thanked Civil Defence for their prompt response and valuable assistance.
