Galway Search – Annaghdown

Galway Civil Defence was activated on Tuesday afternoon, 2nd March to assist in the search for a missing person in the Annaghdown area of Co. Galway.

The Civil Defence Drone Crew was on the scene within an hour of the call out. The search was conducted together with An Garda Síochána, and the Irish Coastguard Helicopter R115.

Following a survey of the search area and consultation with the Gardaí additional Civil Defence resources were activated in addition to the local SARDA dog. 15 Civil Defence members responded from units within Galway.

The body of the missing man was located after further searching and Civil Defence assisted the Gardaí in recovering the remains (RIP).
