Kildare Search Operation, Monasterevin

Kildare Civil Defence Boat Units were activated by An Garda Síochána on Saturday Evening 11th March to assist with a search for a woman from Monasterevin, reported missing since Thursday 9th March.
Eight Civil Defence Volunteers assisted in the search on the Canal in Monasterevin on Sunday morning, 12th March. The assistance of the SUA (drones) unit was requested and units from Laois and Dublin responded.
After completing the search of the Canal, the boat units were then tasked by the Gardaí to carry out a search on the River Barrow. After an extensive search, Kildare Civil Defence Boat Units located the body in the River Barrow and the search was stood down.
