Kilkenny – Search of River Nore

Kilkenny Civil Defence have resumed the search for a 33-year-old man who is reported to have entered the River Nore in the early hours of Sunday morning, 18th January . 11 Civil Defence volunteers including two Civil Defence boat crews are out searching again today, Wednesday 21st January on the River Nore). Waterford Marine Rescue, Kilkenny sub-aqua club, Garda underwater unit and approximately 60 local people are assisting.
Carlow and Tipperary Civil Defence Units are due to assist in the search at the weekend.
15 Civil Defence volunteers assisted in the initial search in the Thomastown area which commenced at 3.30 am on Sunday morning, 18th January and continued searching until 5 pm.
