Laois Civil Defence Acquires New Fire Appliance

Attached is an image of a Fire Appliance which was jointly funded by the Department of Defence and Laois County Council. In the image from left to right are Civil Defence Officer Liam Preston, County Manager Peter Carey, Director of Service Kieran Kehoe and Health and Safety Officer Jim Bolger.
Fire Appliances and Volunteers from Laois Civil Defence support Laois County Fire & Rescue Service during periods of exceptional demand such as flooding, widespread gorse fires and severe weather emergencies. Laois Civil Defence also supports Laois Fire & Rescue Service at large public events such as the Electric Picnic and the National Ploughing Championships.
