Laois Flood Relief Efforts – February 2014

Laois Civil Defence was put on standby on Wednesday 29th January as water levels continued to rise.
Volunteers from the Mountmellick Unit checked water levels from 8am to 12 midnight at intervals of four hours. The water levels checks are still ongoing.
On Sunday 2nd February Civil Defence was called to Graigue, Mountmellick due to flood waters threatening houses in the area. A team of four volunteers with two 4X4s and a trailer deployed 50 sandbags.
