Leitrim Boat Crew assists Cruiser in Difficulty

At 10.30am on Wednesday 6th May Leitrim Civil Defence was requested to provide assistance to a Cruiser aground on Drumharlow Lake on the Shannon. The operation was coordinated by Malin Head Coastguard. The Civil Defence Boat Crew responded and arrived at the search area at 11.10am. A 37 ft Cruiser was located aground in the Drumharlow Lake area with two adults and two children on board. The crew ascertained that there were no injuries and proceeded to refloat the cruiser. They succeeded in refloating the Cruiser and checked that there was no damage to the Cruiser before returning to Carrick- on-Shannon.
