22 September 2014
Up to 20 Civil Defence volunteers were on duty on each of the seven days of this racing festival. Civil Defence formed part of the medical team along with the Red Cross and local GPs. They treated a wide range of conditions ranging from wasp stings to a suspected stroke. Civil Defence deployed two 4×4 ambulances which followed each race around the track. North Cork Civil Defence volunteers travelled to Listowel to assist the Kerry Unit during the festival, which was attended by up to 30,000 per day.
