Loss of Earnings Scheme for Civil Defence Volunteers due to COVID-19 Illness

In line with Government policy arising from the COVID-19 crisis, the Department of Defence has introduced an illness loss of earnings scheme for Civil Defence volunteers who are activated during the COVID-19 crisis.
The scheme relates to suspected or confirmed COVID-19 illness as a result of being involved in Civil Defence duties. It will cover loss of earnings for a maximum of 2 weeks medically required self-isolation or for absence from work, up to a maximum of 10 weeks, following a confirmed diagnosis of COVID-19.
