Meath Civil Defence – New Command & Control Vehicle

A new command and control vehicle was officially handed over to Meath Civil Defence on 27th August.
The vehicle has state of art communications, CCTV and computer facilities. It will be used at major public events and also in missing person searches. The keys to the vehicle were presented to Michael Fitzsimons, Civil Defence Officer by Cllr Jim Holloway, Cathaoirleach, Meath County Council. Also present at the handover were Jackie Maguire, Chief Executive and Tadhg McDonnell, Director of Services, Meath County Council. The Department of Defence was represented by Pat Kennedy and Aidan Dillon. The features of the new vehicle were demonstrated by volunteers Derek Dunne, Cianan Gallagher and Kealan McMoreland. The vehicle was funded by Meath County Council, with assistance from the Department of Defence.
