Meath Civil Defence – Off Road 4X4 Course – February 2012
2 February 2012
Twelve Volunteer members of Meath Civil Defence recently completed the first off-road 4X4 driving course in the county. The course follows the Driving Instructor qualifications received by Volunteer members Cianan Gallagher and John Hornby through the Driver Instructor Course organised by the Civil Defence College.
The off-road course was undertaken in two parts – the theory sessions took place at the Meath Civil Defence county base in Navan on Monday evening 6th February and two half-day practical sessions completed the course on Sunday 12th February.
Participants found the course extremely challenging but enjoyable and felt that it would benefit them enormously in their Civil Defence activities. Further courses are being planned for the coming months.
