Laois Civil Defence – Multi Disciplined Exercise

On Monday night 24th March a number of Laois Civil Defence volunteers took part in a multi-disciplined exercise to practice a number of search, extrication, and medical skills. The exercise took place on the grounds of O’Moore Park GAA Staduim, Portlaoise.


Appreciation Event – Cork North & East Civil Defence

On Thursday evening 13th March volunteers accepted awards from the Principal Response Agencies on behalf of all the volunteers in Cork North and East Civil Defence who assisted during Storm Babet in October 2023 and the recent Snow event in January 2025.


Annual National Radiation Exercise

Slieve Bloom Rescue

26 February 2025

On Tuesday afternoon, 25th February Laois Civil Defence was activated to assist an injured walker on the Slieve Bloom Mountains. The injured walker was treated by Civil Defence EMTs and Paramedics and transported by stretcher back down the trail to an ambulance crew from the  National Ambulance Service.


Search & Rescue Operation, Gort, Co Galway
