Retirement of Bernie McLoughlin from Dublin Civil Defence

Bernie McLoughlin retired on Friday 3rd December after 15 years with Dublin Civil Defence. Bernie was the first point of contact for all that came in contact with the Dublin unit of Civil Defence. We wish Bernie well in her retirement and cannot thank her enough for her dedication to the organisation.  

Wicklow Civil Defence – Search & Recovery Operation

Rosslare Search Operation

22 November 2021

Wexford Civil Defence was activated by An Garda Síochána to assist in the search for a missing person in Rosslare on Friday 19th November. Drone crews and land searchers conducted extensive searches on Saturday 20th, and the Boat Crews searched sandbanks and water in the vicinity of Wexford Harbour on Sunday 21st. The search is ongoing.

Peter Deady, Cork South R.I.P.

South Cork Civil Defence Unit, Commander Peter Deady sadly passed away on Saturday 20th November. Peter gave over 40 years of his life to the organisation and will be sadly missed by his colleagues in Civil Defence. Rest in Peace.

Death Notice – John O’Grady R.I.P.

It is with regret we report the death of John O’Grady who passed away on 28th October 2021, at Our Lady’s Hospital, Navan. John served as a part-time Civil Defence Officer in Meath from 1987  to 2000. May he Rest in Peace.
