Monaghan Boat Unit Rescue

Monaghan Civil Defence was activated on Thursday afternoon, 29th June to assist a gentleman who got into difficulty while boating on Lough Muckno, Castleblayney.  Two members of Monaghan Boat Unit responded to the call and assisted him to safety while also recovering the boat.

Shekina Sculpture Garden, Wicklow

President of Ireland, Michael D Higgins formally opened the 20 Year Celebration Exhibition at the Shekina Sculpture Garden on Friday 9th June 2017. The Garden is located at Kirikee, Glenmalure, Co.Wicklow. Wicklow Civil Defence personnel were on hand to assist An Garda Síochána with traffic control and provided bus transport for invited guests.


Drogheda Maritime Festival

Boat and Kayak teams from the Meath Civil Defence Unit were on the water on Saturday 10th June in Drogheda providing safety cover for the maritime festival.  


Ring of Beara Cycle

Coastal Erosion & Flooding Survey

Kerry Civil Defence is currently working with volunteers from Cork South Civil Defence assisting Kerry County Council with the task of surveying for coastal erosion and flooding. The Civil Defence Drones are proving to be an extremely valuable asset in this project.
