Monaghan – Search & Rescue

Monaghan Civil Defence Boat Unit was activated by Gardaí  on Wednesday morning, 8thFebruary  at to assist in the rescue of a young  man who was observed entering Hollywood Lake near Scotstown.  The gentelman was in a distressed state and there were c oncerns for his safety.  Both Civil Defence and the Ambulance Service attended the scene.

The Civil Defence Boat Unit responded to the incident and the gentelman was recovered from the lake and brought to the shore where he was treated for extreme hypotheremia by paramedics.

The Garda on scene praised and thanked Civil Defence for their prompt response and professionalism.
