Multi Agency Training Camp, Bere Island

Cork West Civil Defence hosted an Inter Agency EMT Training weekend on Bere Island last weekend May 13th & 14th for Civil Defence, Red Cross and Defence Forces members. Instruction was provided by Dr Alan Watts, Dr Jason Van der Velde, AP Kieran Henry, AP Mick Lynch and AP Jonathan Tyner on a range of topics which included primary survey, sepsis, shock, decompression sickness and crew resource management. Participants also worked together as teams to deal with a number of challenging scenarios, which allows a better understanding of the capabilities of each agency in responding to adverse situations.
