New Ross Search & Recovery Operation

The search for a person reported missing from the New Ross area which had been ongoing for the past two weeks concluded on Tuesday 9th November with the recovery of a body from the River Barrow.
Family and friends of the missing person found the body. Volunteer crews from Waterford Marine Search and Rescue along with Mallow Search and Rescue assisted with the recovery and returned him to his family.
A massive multi-agency search effort had been ongoing for a duration of two weeks. Kilkenny Civil Defence was deployed intitially and over the course of the two weeks were supporetd by their colleagues from Wexford Civil Defence, Carlow Civil Defence, Wicklow Civil Defence, Dublin Civil Defence and Waterford City Civil Defence. The various Civil Defence Drone, Boat and Search teams assisted a multitude of agencies throughout the operation.
