North Tipperary Civil Defence Assist with Rescue of Injured Person
On Monday 12th November North Tipperary Civil Defence were alerted to assist an injured man in the Horse & Jockey area. The man had been cutting wood in a remote wooded area near his home when he slipped on an embankment. On arrival, members stabilised and treated the man who was suffering from a suspected dislocated hip. An HSE Ambulance was called and, working together with the ambulance crew the man was carried to the ambulance on the public road using a vacuum mattress and basket stretcher.
The man was transported to hospital where he made a full recovery.
