Regional Exercises 2011 – Dublin, 20th November 2011

Dublin Civil Defence hosted the seventh and final tranche of the 2011 Regional Exercises on Sunday 20thNovember. The Competition included five competitive sites comprising Footdrill, in the Tallaght Stadium Car Park, and Casualty/Rescue, Flood Defence, Communications and Team Task, at the Tallaght Stadium and at Bohernabreena.
Four teams, namely Kildare, Meath, Cavan and Wicklow competed. At the end of an Exercise which tested and showcased the capabilities and skills of the competitors the Meath team emerged victorious. Presentations were made to the winning team at a Presentation Dinner in the Maldron Hotel, Tallaght.
The Exercise featured on RTÉ Six One News. The piece highlighted the professional level of training provided by the organisation and reminded viewers of the dedication and professionalism displayed by Civil Defence during the recent Flood Relief efforts.
