RTÉ Nationwide Feature

RTÉ Nationwide visited Civil Defence Headquarters, Benamore, Roscrea on Sunday last 9th September.

The Civil Defence College will feature as part of a Nationwide Programme to be aired on Monday 17th September, which centres on the Voluntary Agencies Exhibition scheduled for City Hall, Cork on the weekend of 15th-16th September.

The Civil Defence feature includes interviews with the Director General, Bill Smith and College Principal, Róisín McGuire. The producers will highlight the work of the College in training its cache of Instructors from units across the country and the subsequent roll-out process of training the volunteer members on a local basis.

Civil Defence members from North Tipperary, Limerick County, Limerick City, Clare and Kildare displayed their skills for the camera across a number of disciplines, namely, Water Rescue, Open Country Rescue, AFS, Casualty and Welfare.
